Miami Vice Ferrari

The Miami Vice Ferrari can now be bought for $1.75 million until Jan. 7, 2015 on popular online auction site eBay.

The iconic 1986 Ferrari Testarossa was driven by ''Miami Vice'' stars ''Rico'' Tubbs and ''Sonny'' Crockett on the 1980s TV series.

Auto Pawn Plus, a pawn and auto loan firm, posted the two-seater on eBay for sale. The firm's owner Peter Lima acquired the famous white car in 2012 from the person who bought the car from the Miami Vice TV series producer in a Universal Studios department in 1991.

According to Lima, the Miami Vice Ferrari was stored in a garage for nearly three decades.

Ferrari did not give out details regarding the car's authenticity.

Lima said that the Miami Vice Ferrari was drove for around 25,750 kilometers and also has the built-in phone by Motorola used in the hit TV series.

Producers initially used a replica Ferrari for the Miami Vice series, which ran for five seasons from 1984 to 1989 on NBC, but Universal Studios was demanded by Enzo Ferrari, founder of the famous car brand, to use an authentic one.

Universal then acquired two black Ferrari Testarossas that were repainted white, according to receipts .

The other Miami Vice Ferrari is owned by a collector also in south Florida.

Lima said that it would be ''no big deal'' if the Miami Vice Ferrari would not be grabbed by eBay buyers and that it would "sell for more."

The famous TV series starred Philip Michael Thomas and Don Johnson for the lead roles.
