Pokémon is a media franchise owned by The Pokémon Company,[3] and created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995.

"Pokemon Picross" is set for a Dec. 3 release date in the Nintendo 3DS eShop as unveiled by Pokemon's official site.

According to the site, "Pokemon Picross" will be accessible free of charge, but players, if willing, shall purchase (using real money, Nintendo notes) "picrates"- known as "rare stones with magical powers." Apparently, picrates are used in unlocking levels and recovering "Pokemon" skills.

A gamers "Pokemon" has skills that help them move through the available levels such as Lucario, whose Hyper Scan Skill enables the gamer to scan the grid and fix existing incorrect squares. Another example is Squirtle's Blue Force, which can change the color of the hint numbers to blue on squares and rows that a gamer can definitely fill in.

According to Nintendo Life, after a gamer has used a skill, some "Pokemon" will be unusable for some period, unless they purchase a picrate. "Pokemon," however could be collected by solving a puzzle for their likeness.

Many "Pokemon" can make an appearance in a game and with over 300 different puzzles, a gamer is sure to find their favorites. Nintendo announced that besides familiar "Pokemon," all mega-Evolved "Pokemon" that has already appeared through "Pokemon Omega Ruby" and "Pokemon Aplha Sapphire" will show up to help and challenge the player in this game. Even more, some mythical and legendary "Pokemon" will make an appearance too.

Meanwhile, "Pokemon Z" another close relative in the Nintendo series will be released soon and Zygarde, who is a popular character in the game has already been unveiled. "Pokemon Z" and "Pokemon Picross" are awaited by fans in the later part of the year.

"Pokemon Picross" was first proclaimed earlier in November 2015 during a Nintendo Direct Broadcast.
