The annual Steam Fall sale event kicked off on Nov. 25, Wednesday. The event dubbed The Exploration Sale will offer up to 200 discounted video games.
The Steam Exploration Sale, as the name suggests, focuses on video games whose main gameplay theme is focused on exploration. Hence, Steam gives more emphasis on titles like "ARK: Survival Evolved ($18), "H1Z1" ($13). Steam is also throwing in up to 75 percent discount on games under the "Fallout" franchise.
For games whose main focus is discovery, gamers can pick seasons 1 and 2 of "The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game Series" for $6 each, "Cities: Skylines" for $15. Steam is also offering up to 75 percent discount on games under the "Tom Clancy" franchise.
Some top selling titles include "Grand Theft Auto V" with 40 percent discount, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" including Expansion Pass with 35 percent discount, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" with 75 percent discount and "Wolfenstein: The New Order" with 85 percent discount.
The year's Steam Exploration Sale does not include daily rotating deals. This means that whatever the offers are when it kicked off will not change during the duration of the sale.
In a statement obtained by NeoGaf, the Steamworks Developers group confirmed, "This year, to optimize the sale for customers and to allow us to feature and recommend your products in more ways to more customers, we're asking for just one discount, to run the length of the sale."
Steam did not say whether it will add new games into the sale lineup as the sale progresses. The sale will run until 10AM PST on Dec. 1, according to Gamespot.
