Pokémon Z, Pokémon GO Release Date Update: 6 Feature Upgrades Aside From Zygarde To Expect

Zygarde appears in Terminus Cave in "Pokemon XY."

The latest Pokémon Z and GO update is expected to touchdown December 15 via the Japanese manga CoroCoro and fans are holding their breath on likely revelations that involve release date and character details, Zygarde chief among them, being spilled out. While waiting, rumors are aplenty on what feature upgrades to expect.

Thanks to Movie Pilot, the Pokémon world is getting a clear picture of the things to arrive apart from the suggestions that Zygarde will be joined by Pokémon X and Y monster legends Xerneas and Yveltal. So here are the things to expect once the Pokémon Z and GO are unpacked:

New twists

As a 20-yeal old game franchise, Pokémon badly needs fresh feature injections that will again enrapture its millions of fans, likely sustaining the series to another 2-decade run. There's got to be new twists - probably a different storyline from the tiresome plots seen in the previous iterations.

Movie Pilot said that it wouldn't hurt if The Pokémon Company introduces a new game texture that is a huge departure from the usual "cotton candy" Pokémon theme.

Balanced gameplay

Pokémon, no doubt, was originally written for the young audience, which explains the cutesy implementation of both the TV series and movies. As expected, the same treatment is extended to the Pokémon game series that for many players is easy to conquer.

Yet Pokémon also attracts players of all ages and it is high time that the game creator pack the title with more difficult settings to make for a balanced gameplay. Making the Elite Four are harder to beat in the Pokémon Z installment is a good place to begin on this regard.

Balanced character strength

Rumors say Zygarde is the dominant power in the Pokémon Z and the likes of Xerneas and Yveltal will be no match to the hero in 100% evolved form. While this is good for players wanting to become Zygarde in the Pokémon universe, it should be more engaging for gamers to see that strength and powers bestowed on characters are equally in most cases.

Pokémon quests and challenges

As mentioned, once the Elite Four task, defeating them, has been set aside, nothing much is in store for Pokémon gamers. To remedy this on the Pokémon Z, players would appreciate the inclusion of Quests and as proposed by Movie Pilot, the game creator can ramp up the excitement by pitting Pokémon in some sort of a game tournament.

Simplified game navigation

One major gripe about the Pokémon game is the complicated navigation that makes for circuitous, for instance, of saving game progress or deleting of date. Hopefully in the Pokémon Z, these tasks will become more intuitive if not downright straightforward.

Augmented Reality or AR

And bannering the Pokémon GO that likely will debut at the same time with Pokémon Z is augmented reality or AR that in the dreamed implementation will allow "players to interact with virtual Pokémon in the world around them," Movie Pilot said in a separate report, adding that gamers in both Android and iOS platforms will be treated to the new technology.

AR on the Pokémon GO, the report added, will become a reality with the collaboration of three key players - The Pokémon Company, Nintendo and Niantic Inc., the latter made its mark in the AR industry with Ingress. How exactly the Pokémon AR flavor will play out is somehow teased in the clip below:
