According to Universal Studios, if everything goes well, then Angelina Jolie Pitt is all set to play the lead role in the remake of the classic horror "Bride of Frankenstein."

Reports emerge that Jolie has been approached by the top executives of the Universal Studios to convince the actress for casting her in "Bride of Frankenstein" and "Wanted 2." Angelina Jolie Pitt, 40, who is well known to play "odd" and "monstrous" roles, is seen as the top contender for the cult classic horror.

In spite of knowing Jolie's lack of interest in horror movies, the Universal Studios is playing all its cards, and are even planning a "cinematic universe" with its rights on archetypal horror films like "Bride of Frankenstein," "The Mummy," "Dracula" and many others on the line.

The Universal Studios are desperate to convince Jolie for the classic horror, and if they fail to do so, at least reprise her role as assassin "Fox," in a sequel based on the comic book hit "Wanted" (2008). It is seen in the past that Angelina Jolie has been able to ring the box office cash registers despite of lukewarm reviews, such as in the case of Disney's "Maleficent," which took $758m worldwide.

The actress also stated in her interviews that she has lost interest in acting and looks into the future as a director working behind the camera. One has to wait and see how far Universal Studios would go to cast the gorgeous Angelina Jolie.
