Kim Kardashian underwent a medical procedure over the weekend to correct her unborn baby's breach position.

The 35-year-old reality star posted about her second pregnancy's breach position on her website last week, describing the baby's head as pointing up instead of down.

According to New York Daily News, Kardashian feared having to go through a Ceasarian section if her baby didn't turn to the correct head-down position before her due date.

Kardashian went through an External Cephalic Version procedure, or ECV, where the fetus is manually turned while still in the womb.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star, who is 37 weeks pregnant, and due to give birth within the month, was given medication via an intravenous drip which relaxed her uterus and allowed her doctors to manually turn the baby.

A team of three medical doctors were on hand to perform the procedure, which carried with it several risks, including Kardashian's water breaking or the baby's heart rate slowing.

According to Kardashian, if either of those scenarios had taken place, her doctors would have had to perform an emergency C-section to deliver her baby a week before its due date.

Kardashian further said she was given no pain medication and reported the procedure was "more painful than childbirth."

On Dec. 2, Tuesday, the reality star took to her Facebook account to announce "My Baby is TURNT!" with an accompanying photo of herself sporting a near-term baby bump.

This pregnancy is Kardashian's second with her third husband, rapper, Kanye West with whom she has a two-year-old daughter, North.

Kardashian announced her second pregnancy via her Instagram account in May, after reporting she had trouble conceiving another child with West. A month later, she posted on social media she was having a boy due to be delivered this month.

People further revealed the reality actress was planning on having her sister, Kourtney babysit North while she recovered from childbirth.
