Zendaya is happy to be part of Taylor Swift's squad, but the Disney alum said that she is just as content hanging out with her regular friends.
In an interview with Complex, Zendaya said that she does not have a squad, she just have friends.
"My squad! What is my squad? I don't really have a squad, I just have friends."
She added that she does not usually hangs out with people she met in Hollywood, saying that she is more comfortable surrounding herself with those she knew way back.
When asked about the guy, Trevor, she has always been seen on red carpets with, Zendaya said that he is his best guy friend. She shared that they have known each other since they were 12.
"He's not an industry kid; I don't do industry kids," she added.
Fans have always assumed that Zendaya belongs to Swift's squad after she appeared in the "Bad Blood" music video. The "Shake It Up" star, however, said that Swift just got in touch with her through a common friend, asking if she wanted to perform in her video.
Zendaya only had nice words to say about Swift. She said that she is the type of person who goes out of her way to make sure that everyone felt very comfortable on set.
Meanwhile, the actress also said that she will not have her own "Miley moment." Zendaya said that she tries to be honest with her fans as much as possible to avoid surprises along the way. She added that a lot of Disney stars had been forced into becoming role models and they had to pretend to be someone they were not.
