Renowned actress and producer Sandra Bullock recently announced that she has adopted a second child.

"Our Brand Is Crisis" star Sandra Bullock has a new addition in her small family.

The actress recently confirmed to People that she has adopted a 3½-year-old girl named Laila. The little girl is originally from Louisiana and was in foster care prior to her adoption.

The 51-year-old actress also revealed that the process of adopting Laila started about three years ago. Her elder son Louis, whom she adopted in 2010, admittedly "spearheaded this whole journey" and has now developed a strong bond with his sibling.

Bullock also said that first few months of Laila's adoption required patience and plenty of reassurance.

"I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere," gushed the actress who also claimed that Laila has brought "pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans."

The actress also disclosed that her five-year-old son made it quite clear that he wanted a sibling who has "some brown skin."

Laila was adopted from the foster care system and had been living with the actress for some time before her placement was finalized after which only she decided to make it official. She admittedly feared that the adoption would be jeopardised by the fact that she is a huge star.

In fact, it was rumored back in October that Bullock has adopted an infant daughter, with whom she reported to have made a couple of visits to hospital too. However, the actress slammed the news saying that if she had a second adopted child, she would make it official.

The adoption news came after it was claimed that the actress' new photographer-boyfriend, Bryan Randall, has moved into her Beverly Hills home, Daily Mail reported.
