Mariah Carey is an international singer famous for her song "All I Want For Christmas is You."

Mariah Carey has revealed an intention to go to Aspen, Colorado, for Christmas before the pop star had to be hospitalized because of the severe flu on Dec. 2, Wednesday.

The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" singer said at the Pier 1 event on Dec. 1, Tuesday, that Carey was indeed feeling a bit unwell but has expressed excitement over the coming holidays.

Likewise, the 45-year-old record producer also noted that going to Aspen has always been part of the Christmas tradition for Carey, according to People. The singer has always been fond of a white holiday season, and Aspen is a perfect place for individuals who want a snowy Christmas.

After the evening Pier 1 Christmas Pop Up Storybook launch, Carey was immediately sent to the hospital in New York City. A representative from the Pier 1 event was grateful for the fact that the singer still chose to attend the book launch even if Carey was already sick on Tuesday.

The actress' representative remarked that Carey is already recovering greatly from the flu which has actually dampened the singer's mood for several days. The songwriter was also thankful for all the support and wishes provided by the fans. Thus, Carey is seemingly ready to perform this weekend.

Meanwhile, the sudden hospitalization of Carey due to the flu has been noted as a sign for people be wary of the virus during the flu season, according to Today.

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is still unsure of the overall severity of this year's flu season, the onset of colder days might lead to a drastic increase in flu cases after the number of incidents was below average for November.

However, one slightly positive thing to note is that most people who would have the flu will only be having a mild case.

Some flu symptoms include having a sore throat, runny nose, body aches, chills and fatigue. Moreover, some people could have worse symptoms and a severe flu.

The best solution is for people to get flu shots in order to create herd immunity in which individuals are likely to be infected because of the greater number of people becoming immune to the virus.
