Director Gil Kenan's latest project, "Five Nights at Freddy's," is based on Scott Cawthon's horror video game. Apart from teasing likely character and plot through his social media accounts, Kenan unveiled that he was collaborating with Cawthon for the film adaptation.

While the director continued revealing some possible plot, he managed to keep official information about his upcoming live-action adaptation under wrap, Reality Today reported. In one of his most recent posts, Kenan posted a monochromatic still of a plush toy in some wreckage with the caption, "only one survived."  Another photo uploaded on Nov. 9 revealed the inside of a likely animatronic to be featured in the movie.

Initially, it was reported that Kenan would use real animatronics as opposed to special effects. The filmmaker indicated his desire to revive Cawthon's murderous robotics by avoiding overreliance on CGI and digital alterations.

It is unclear whether Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Foxy, or Chica will be seen on the big screen since director Kenan teased that storyline will be different from the original video game.

The filmmaker pointed out that Cawthon would be involved in the project as much as he would. Kenan will as well co-write the script of the film with Tyler Burton Smith of "Sleeping Dogs," according to Geek Smash.

Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, and Roy Lee do the production of the film as Jay Ireland and Adam Stone will be executive producers.

Cawthon's indie point-and-click horror and survival series has four games, with the first one released on Aug. 8, 2014. Here is footage for the upcoming live-action adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's."
