Launch Of The iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus

Rumors claim that tech giant Apple, in a rather peculiar move, is planning to launch a new 4-inch iPhone early in 2016. The rumored 4-inch iPhone will resemble an upgraded iPhone 5S, many analysts believe.

According to Forbes, the rumor came from notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. Kuo said that the upcoming smartphone from Apple will sport a metal casing and will have the same camera specifications to the current entry-level iPhone. This means that the smartphone will have a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear facing camera.

Despite having only 4-inch display, the rumored iPhone is not a pushover in terms of computing power. According to Mac Rumors, the smartphone will use the A9 chip manufactured by Samsung and TSMC. It will sport a 2.5D cover glass that has curved edges which is identical to the iPhone 6S.

The rumored iPhone is believed to support Apple Pay and will be available in at least three color variants. Kuo added that a full-year shipment of the rumored iPhone will reach 20 million units. Production of the smartphone will start within the first quarter of 2016.

the 4-inch iPhone is believed to fetch a price tag between $400 and $500 in the United States. This means that it will be $149 and $249 cheaper compared to the 16GB model of the iPhone 6S.

The upcoming 4-inch iPhone will serve as a follow up to the iPhone 5C and will continue the series. Experts believe that the smartphone will be called iPhone 6C.

The iPhone 5C was released in 2015 and was an inexpensive alternative to the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S.
