Fans of "The Fosters" will be delighted to know that ABC Family has finally renewed the show for a fourth season. The second half of season 3 is set to premiere on Jan. 25, 2016.

The renewal did not come as a surprise given that the series has received positive feedback from both viewers and critics, especially on their take on the LGBT community. TV.com even recently ranked "The Fosters" as the no. 1 scripted series in its timeslot.

The outlet further reported that the premiere will focus on Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Brandon's (David Lambert) relationship. It was said that the two will attempt to get over their feelings, especially now they will become brothers and sisters. Callie has been adopted by Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum).

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Pete Paige described Callie and Brandon as "star crossed lovers." He shared that the two had this unexplainable connection ever since they first met. He added that they definitely would have never taken their relationship to the next level if they thought that the adoption is happening.

"You know how you encounter those people in the world who just get you and from the beginning? There is a profound and deep understanding. They compliment each other so beautifully," he said.

Paige added that they will continue to explore Callie and Brandon's relationship in the coming episodes. He said that with the adoption, things are definitely going to get even more complicated and interesting.
