Audi smartwatch by LG was recently revealed at CES showcasing its power to control the automobile by using the customized LG smartwatch, reported SlashGear. The smartwatch has a capability to operate and manage the German car.

At the CES display, Audi's head of Research and Development, Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, used the smartwatch to start the engine of the Audi Prologue and drive it around the stage. The slick looking timepiece has touchscreen similar to that of LG's current Android models. The smartwatch also has Google's Android platform and comes with the latest UI and brand new hardware packets.

LG explains the other capabilities of the smartwatch with regard to controlling the Audi automobile. It has the capacity to lock and unlock the car, control the stereo, and adjust the climate controls too.

LG, along with Samsung and Nvidia, is one of the few companies that Audi is working with to develop the technology on their automobiles. This concept was announced by Audi a few months ago, where the German carmaker company states that it borrowed most features of their upcoming A8 sedan.  The Prologue however enjoys several features that the A8 doesn't have, one of which is self-driving capability.

Hackenberg added that he plans to develop this technological breakthrough smartwatch to be able to let drivers unlock rental cars for the convenience of consumers. No need to check in at a rental counter then. This capability will only take a few years from now and will be available to the public.
