The release date of "Baby Daddy" season 5 is expected to be delayed following Jean-Luc Bilodeau's (Ben) Halloween accident. Showrunner Dan Berendsen, however, explained that fans of Danny (Derek Theler) and Riley (Chelsea Kane) will not be disappointed when the premiere airs Feb. 3, 2016.

Speaking to TV Line, Berendsen said that Danny and Riley has always been meant to be together. He added that season 5 will finally put an end to the story's love triangle angle. Berendsen admitted that some of the episodes will focus on Ben, as he tries to move on from her but it will mostly focus on Danny and Riley's relationship. He added that fans will get to see a more mature side of Ben, as he tries to figure out what he wants to do with this life.

Berendsen shared that there will be a time jump in the premiere, but only after fans find out what Riley's answer is. In the season 4 finale, Danny proposed to Riley after being touched by Ben's message.

Although it has yet to be confirmed if Riley said yes to Danny, Berendsen shared that at least 20 episodes in season 5 will be dedicated to Danny and Riley. He explained that they wanted to present something fresh to the viewers by showing the couple in their mid-relationship.

Berendsen shared that he always knew that Riley should end up with Danny. He, however, admitted that there were instances when he felt that she and Ben looked good together.

"I wavered the most on the train episode, which is one of my favorites. I went back into the writer's room and was like, 'OK, we might have to rethink this,'" he shared.
