Redmi Note 3 gets its grand release at an event at China National Convention Center in Beijing. In comparison to its previous version Redmi Note 2, this latest tablet is full of new features and upgrades. It has new features related to its security, battery and quality. Xiaomi announced two variants of Redmi Note 3; one is a 2GB RAM with 16GB built-in storage and another one is a 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is designed with a 5.5-inch full-HD screen with sunlight display. Its screen is operational in three modes - Sunlight mode, Night mode and Reading mode - which gives users a freedom to use the screen as per different lighting conditions.
The phone weighs 164 grams and is just 8.65mm thick. The phone features an entire metal body, a fingerprint sensor at its back just below the camera and runs on Android Lollipop OS. Its fingerprint sensor is said to have a capacity to unlock the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in just 0.3s. Its charging power is also remarkable as it can charge up to 50 percent in 1 hour with its 4000mAh battery. The battery can power the device for close to 264 hours under standby mode.
Both variants of Redmi Note 3 run on the same MediaTek (MT6795) Helio X10 Octa-core CPU. Due to its metallic body, it is bulky in comparison to its predecessor Redmi Note 2. Its uni-body structure allows the company to use micro-SD card slot in it.
To focus on its camera, Redmi Note 3 features 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) function and and 0.1s focus speed with two-tone flash, while its front window, camera features 5mp OmniVision snapper with 5-element lens and f/2.2 aperture.
Phone users who are always concerned with the security issues can get a relief with its fingerprint sensor that provides second layer of protection to their stored data. Available colors for Redmi Note 3 are Gold, Silver, and Dark Grey.
