‘Jurassic World 2’ Plot, Rumors: Claire Dearing To Lead the Sequel, Zach To Have A Vital Role?

Bryce Dallas Howard is Claire Dearing in Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World."

Bryce Dallace Howard's Claire Dearing is set to lead the storyline of "Jurassic World 2," according to reports. Also, Nick Robinson's Zach might have a deeper role in the "Jurassic World" sequel.

"Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow suggested that Dearing represents the major themes of the story plot. In his interview with Movie Pilot, Trevorrow said that Dearing was the one who evolved the most over the trilogy. He added that it was her story that mirrors this changing world.

Trevorrow also said that Dearing and Chris Pratt's Owen Grady had opened Pandora's Box in "Jurassic World" and each of them was responsible for different elements of it in different ways. For Trevorrow, the way that the characters were connected to the circumstances of what was happening was different than the previous films.

Following the events in "Jurassic World," it is assumed that fans will see Dearing act to prevent another tragedy, since there are other parties that messed up her company's technology. Seeing the character as the next film's protagonist mirrors Dr. Ellie Sattler's "Jurassic Park" line, "Dinosaurs eat man. Woman inherits the earth."

Aside from Howard and Pratt, some rumors also said that Dearing's nephew Zach, who is played by Nick Robinson, is also expected to join his aunt and Grady in a new adventure in "Jurassic World 2." As a main character, he is reported that he would be learning new skills from Grady in the film.

Robinson expressed his willingness to go on with Howard and Pratt in the sequel. In his interview with Screen Rant in June, Robinson said that while it was not up to him, he would have loved to work on more of those films. He added that he would have liked to see the film explore more real dinosaurs that have not been introduced in "Jurassic World."

Trevorrow teased in previous reports that "Jurassic World 2" would not be about bigger and better dinosaurs just like what fans had seen in its predecessor. The "Jurassic World" director also pointed out that the sequel would serve as a foundation on a much broader story that chronicles the relationship between man and the dinosaurs.

As part of a brand new trilogy, "Jurassic World 2" is set to mirror the line cited by Dr. Alan Grant, who was played by Sam Neill in Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" in 1993.

"Dinosaurs and man, separated by 65 million years of evolution have been thrown back into the mix together," Grant said in Spielberg's film. "How can we know what to expect?"

With "Jurassic World 2" in its early stage of development, exact details on the plot, characters, and cast are yet to be revealed.

"Jurassic World 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on June 22, 2018.
