Chinese company Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. has been busy this year launching its Meizu MX5 handset back in July, followed by the release of its Meizu Pro 5 phablet in October.
The Meizu Pro 5 phablet comes with powerful specs and is one of the most interesting Meizu devices to date, according to Android Headlines.
In November, rumors have claimed that a mini version of the Meizu Pro 5 is also expected to be unveiled.
Li Nan, Vice President of Meizu, confirmed the existence of the phone and added that it could arrive in the market sometime by early 2016. However, new information from Chinese analyst, Sun Changxu, suggests the Meizu Pro 5 Mini could come out earlier than previously expected.
Changxu said Meizu is preparing to unveil a new device sometime before the end of 2015, however, he hasn't specifically mentioned which phone the company is going to announce.
In terms of the specs, the Meizu Pro 5 Mini is rumored to sport a 4.7-inch display screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The phone could have either a 16 or 21 megapixel camera on the back, along with a 5 megapixel shooter on the front. It will run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS along with the Flyme 5.0 on top, according to GSM Arena.
Under the hood, the upcoming mini version could pack the Helio X10/Helio X20 chipset, or the Exynos 7420 processor like the Pro 5. There could be 3GB of RAM and up to 32GB of built-in memory storage that can expand up to 128GB via microSD card.
In addition, another rumor suggests the mini version will be accompanied by another 64GB variant. These rumors and specs haven't been confirmed yet directly by Meizu, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
