Jaguar Land Rover Reports 2014 Sales Output, 2015 Plans; Jaguar XE Intended For Younger Demographic

United Kingdom-based luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has declared their overall sales for 2014 to have risen by as much as 9% without a total sales output of 262, 678 units sold.

The company also stated that they are planning to hit the 500,000 sales output for 2015, in addition to this the company has also reveal two of its flag carrier vehicles for 2015, the Jaguar XE which is a sport sedan and the Land Rover Discovery Sport which is a compact SUV. The company released its 2014 sales report at an event last Sunday.

At the said event, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer for North America Joe Eberhardt said that they are developing a new sport utility vehicle named the F-Pace and said that production will most probably start within early 2016.Eberhardt also added that the F-Pace will be a direct competitor for the Porsche Macan.

The development and production of the Jaguar's first ever sports utility vehicle will also open up 1,300 new jobs in its plant in Solihull in the West Midlands, the additional jobs will help in the overall production of the new vehicle.

Jaguar's newest vehicle, the Jaguar XE, is a compact sedan that the company plans to release and is intended to attract buyers within a younger demographic. Making its debut on the upcoming North American International Auto Show, the Jaguar XE come in with a V6 340 horsepower supercharged engine, this is Jaguar's first vehicle to run using the Ingenium diesel engine.

The Land Rover brand is also expected to release two new diesel powered cars, the Range Rover Td6 and the Range Rover Sport Td6, both of the cars were expected to have a mileage output of 25 miles per gallon. The cars will use the 3-liter Td6 V6 turbocharged diesel engine.
