Microsoft Gears Up To Release Windows 10 On Jan. 21: Rumor

When Microsoft first introduced Windows 10 in September 2014, it was declared to be the successor of Windows 8.1 and will be part of the Windows NT line of operating system.

The schedule of the release was yet to be identified but rumor has it that it will be sometime in the first quarter of 2015. Right now, Windows 10 is in its public beta testing stage. However, significant amount of attention has been given to the variant of Window's 10 that will be released in the mobile and smartphone platform.

Windows reportedly has already chosen Jan. 21 to be the release date for its Windows 10 operating system and it will be released on the desktop, smartphone and tablet platform. Additionally, the rumors also claim that current smartphone running in Windows 8.1 will receive the Windows 10 update completely free of charge and will be called Windows Mobile 10. On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 940 will be the first phone to be fitted with the Windows Mobile 10 operating system and will be available in July or August 2014.

Based on some photos that have leaked out of Microsoft, Windows Mobile 10 has a new user interface but will still sport the tiled designed. Also, a new app was released by Microsoft in its App Store named "Phone Insider."According to its app description it will give user's sneak peeks on the most recent development of Windows Mobile 10 and will also allow registered users to download a pre-release of the operating system updates on their respective smartphones directly from Microsoft.

Microsoft has yet to comment about these rumors and has not yet released an official regarding the recent development of Windows 10.
