Fantastic Plastic Squad is the first video game released by Pound Sand for the iOS platform.

Pound Sand recently released its first iOS video game,"Fantastic Plastic Squad." The game is a third-person shooter and will be compatible with Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

In a statement acquired by Venture Beat, Pound Sand chief executive Greg Goodrich said, "We really wanted to go after touch devices and make it run at 60 grams a second. It feels like a slick, smooth shooter. We want it to be playable anytime, anywhere."

"Fantastic Plastic Squad" is published by DropForge Games, the mobile division of Wargaming. The game puts players into the role of a classic action figure and battle against the game's antagonists, Dr. Demonocle and the Legion of Goons.

Players are given three character choices; the HeroBots, Cyber Squad and Glamazons. Through fighting, each hero gains experience and can level up after amassing a set amount of experience. As player heroes grow stronger, they can customize each individual hero with new accessories and powerful weapons.

Expectations are high for "Fantastic Plastic Squad." The fact that the team behind the game's development was also tied to classic shooter video games added hype to the release of "Fantastic Plastic Squad."

Among the veterans in the team are "Battlefield 4" and "Medal of Honor" co-creators Paul Ohanian and Torin Kampa who work as technical director and lead programmer, respectively. Other members of the team have also worked in various capacities with classic shooter games like "Star Wars Battle Front."

"Fantastic Plastic Squad" can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store. According to Ad Week, Pound Sand is already on the process of developing an Android version of the game.
