Director Peyton Reed's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is set to maintain its unique style of storytelling, following the events in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War."

In his interview with Cinema Blend, Reed said that he and his team were definitely going to be telling their own story in "Ant-Man and the Wasp," even though it was hard to put aside the events in the Russos' upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."

For Reed, "Ant-Man and the Wasp" will consider the storyline of "Captain America: Civil War" and the movies in between the two films while maintaining the uniqueness of his film sequel.

With an overt link among the events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Reed's "Ant-Man" - Scott Lang on the Avengers, Hank Pym on falling cities, Falcon's appearance, and Sokovia on the news paper, it is assumed that Reed's "Ant-Man and the Wasp" gets the same or better treatment.

Prior to his journey with Evangeline Lily's The Wasp in Reed's "Ant-Man and the Wasp," Paul Rudd is set to reprise his role as Marvel's tiniest superhero in the Russo's "Captain America: Civil War."

Ant-Man is set to be part of Captain America's team, along with Hawkeye, Falcon, and Agent 13. They will be against Iron Man's team, which reportedly includes Black Widow, War Machine, The Vision, and Black Panther. The Wasp's inclusion in the film is yet to be revealed. Spider-Man is also set to appear in the film; however, no information yet as to which side he is in.

With Reed set to helm the "Ant-Man" sequel, "Die In A Gunfight" and "Transformers" writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari join Adam McKay in penning the film screenplay, as per Deadline.

Reed's "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 6, 2018 while the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
