South Korean motor company Hyundai announced in November that it is planning to enter the luxury car market with its flagship Genesis brand. Recently, the automaker took the wraps off its first model in the high-end car market, the Genesis G90.

Hyundai claims that the Genesis G90 will feature a semi-autonomous driving system. Hyundai also equipped the G90 with top quality comfort features like the super-ergonomic seats which was certified by a German organization devoted to preventing backache.

The luxury car market, although not a big one, is crowded with classic brands from established car manufacturers. Many market analysts agree that for the Hyundai Genesis G90 to succeed, it must first catch consumer's eyes in the showroom. To achieve this, Hyundai tapped the skills of chief design officer Peter Schreyer who is best known for overseeing the design process of the Audi TT.  The Genesis G90's over the top design centers on the CREST grille.

Inside the G90, a 12.3-inch HD screen control most of the car's infotainment features. The screen also features a 360-degree Around View Monitor which will assist drivers in hard to maneuver parking areas.

Most luxury cars, especially German-made ones, are moving towards a smaller turbocharged engine. Hyundai is taking a different direction in this aspect as it chooses to power the G90 with an engine that has larger displacement. According to Gizmag, the Genesis G90 is available in three engine variants; a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6, a 3.8-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8.

All the three engine variants are equipped with eight-speed torque converter transmission. The Hyundai Genesis G90 is available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drivetrain, according to Fox News.
