Kyle MacLachlan is all set to reprise his role as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper in the ABC hit show "Twin Peaks." The show had run for two seasons from 1990 to 1991 but was unfortunately put off air after that. But ABC has now decided to bring back the FBI oriented series back for the audience and are hoping to rope in all the original cast members again.

The reprisal is limited to an only a nine-episode series and MacLachlan has signed the deal with the channel to take on his role as Dale Cooper. MacLachlan has confirmed the news about returning to the ABC show at the Television Critics Association. He said that he is very excited to revive his role as the lead FBI agent.

The story revolves around the mystery and investigation of the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, which was then played by Sheryl Lee and how the FBI investigates this murder mystery. Shot back in 1990, the show was highly praised by the critics citing that the show is pretty much ahead of its time. Agent Cooper is a no-nonsense FBI agent and does his work with the utmost sincerity.

The show will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and the creators chose this special occasion to revive the series, which was loved by many.

The rest of the cast and the date of the show's premiere are yet to be officially announced.
