Fresh rumors suggest that Samsung is testing Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Galaxy S6 smartphone.

Samsung is rumored to be working on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update that is said to be minor upgrade over Android 6.0 for Galaxy S6. A GeekBench database listing of Galaxy S6 that has surfaced recently shows the handset currently running on the newest Android build, G for Games reported.

The GeekBench listing has revealed that the model number of Galaxy S6 under testing is SM-G920F. It is an unlocked international model. When the Android 6.0.1 build will ready for the masses, the SM-G920F variant will be one of the first smartphones to receive it.

As far as the release of Android 6.0.1 update for Galaxy S6 is concerned, it is expected to be available as early as January 2016. It was recently reported that Samsung's flagship smartphones of this year such as Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be receiving the Android M update in the first quarter of 2016, Phone Arena reported.

Speculations suggest the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will for Galaxy S6 will also bring along the latest version of TouchWiz UI that will sport a flattened appeal.

The Android 6.0.1 comes with more than 200 new emojis and a removed feature of "Do Not Disturb until." If the Android 6.0.1 update will be provided to Galaxy S6 owners, the other 2015 flagship smartphones from the South Korean giant will also get same build. 

The source has speculated that the update will be first made available to the users in Poland. After its successful release in Poland, the update will be made available to users in other regions.
