Nicki Minaj Family Series: Young Actress To Portray Female Rapper

Nicki Minaj revealed Ariana Neal will portray as a young her in the ABC's family series, "Nicki."

The songwriter and rapper will star in an upcoming family series according to CNN. The rapper announced the name of the cast who will play as young "Nicki" on Instagram. 

"I literally cried watching her taped audition. I demanded to meet her! Sat in a room with her teaching her how to rap by doing a beat on the table & forcing her to stay on beat!" The "Anaconda" hitmaker wrote on Instagram with a photo of Ariana Neal.

Neal starred in the movie "Get Hard," "Vipaka," and "Fruitvale Station." The young actress has started acting since she was three-years-old.

The upcoming ABC show, "Nicki" will follow Minaj's childhood, her family's migration from Trinidad in the 90s, and her life in New York.

The "Sister Act" actress and comedian, Whoopi Goldberg, will guest star in the family series. She will play the role of Nicki's neighbor, Miss Martha.

The "Anaconda" hitmaker serves as the executive producer of the family series and she will also appear in it. 

Meanwhile, on Dec. 19, Saturday, the 33-year-old female rapper performed in Angola despite human right activists plea to cancel her concert according to Daily Mail. The rapper performed at a Christmas party held in the capital Luanda. The Christmas party was hosted by the Unitel communications firm, which is part-owned by the family of the Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos. 

Human rights activists and critics claimed that the "Super Bass" presence could be considered as an "an endorsement' of the president's authoritarian rule." The rapper was reportedly paid $2 million for Saturday's concert.

The Angolan President, dos Santos, was involved in controversial issues such as being accused for overseeing corruption.
