After launching the Huawei P8 smartphone in April, Chinese giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is reportedly working on the new successor, the P9, which is rumored to be released in March 2016.

Back in October, the Huawei P9 smartphone was rumored to have a dual camera set up on the back. One of these could be a 16 megapixel OIS unit.

In terms of the specs, the Huawei P9 could sport a 5.2-inch AMOLED display screen with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution (QHD), according to Phone Arena.

Under the hood, the handset is expected to pack Huawei's latest and most powerful HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, along with an octa-core CPU and the Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processing unit. Other specs include 4GB of RAM and fingerprint sensor as well, GSM Arena reported.

In addition to the Huawei P9, rumors claim the device might be launched alongside another version, called the Huawei P9 Max, which will feature a 6.2-inch phablet size display screen, and will pack the Kirin 950 chipset as well, along with 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal memory storage. The P9 Max will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

In comparison with its predecessor, the Huawei P8 also comes with a 5.2-inch display screen, but with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. This phone has a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8 megapixel front-facing snapper.

Inside, the P8 packs the HiSilicon Kirin 930/935 chipset, 3GB of RAM, up to 16GB/64GB of built-in memory, and a 2680 mAh battery. The 16GB version is available in Titanium Grey and Mystic Champagne, while the 64GB version comes in Carbon Black and Prestige Gold colors.
