Nintendo has disclosed its plans for the next generation gaming console. The design of the NX console touchscreen controller is patented, which has a fully customized shape that includes touchscreen, covering the entire front panel along with other regular elements such as analog stick and shoulder buttons as seen in a smartphone.

Meanwhile, Nintendo was in talks to use free-form displays by Sharp and would pursue as a mobile unit, Japan Times reported. The patent file reveals that there is a bigger plan of entering into the mobile market and is expected to kick off in 2016. Wired posted on its official Website that Nintendo has already decided to move away from the Wii U.

Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima told Times "We have to move away from Wii and Wii U and make it unique that will appeal to our consumer base." The gamepad would appear to function as a large 3DS-style machine that will have games for mobile and living room use in the same panel. It opens up a number of potential uses for the controller, apart from just gaming. The potential uses could be to add fire effects around the stick, show guides on moving analog controls, display a browser screen and allow the user to enter text.

According to the patent filed, NX would be a mobile or console hybrid along with a portable device that can be used in a conjunction with the console or taken on the road for a separate use, The Wall Street Journal reported. Strangely, Nintendo's name was not included in the patent filing and Nintendo can anytime change the way they do things for this console.
