"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 saw lowest ratings and rescheduling from CW for the first time in show's history. It is being speculated that Nina Dobrev's exit from "The Vampire Diaries" has a huge role to play. With all the co-stars being sad over Dobrev's exit, Ian Somerhalder seemed relieved.
Did Dobrev really leave for better future of Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, or was she unable to stand shoulder to shoulder with ex-lover?
It was highly speculated that Somerhalder and Reed are not doing great together after marriage, since Dobrev is still very much close to the former. After her exit from "The Vampire Diaries," fans have been requesting for Dobrev's return.
Dobrev cleared through soulful Instagram post that she will not be returning for CW Series. In her past interview with E! News, Dobrev commented on her breakup with Somerhalder and expressed her love towards him.
Dobrev insisted that breakup did not happen because of any negative feelings. She further added, "I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him."
Her exit from the show, really didn't go down well with fans. "The Vampire Diaries" and spin-off series "The Originals" both saw backlash from CW, and got rescheduled. "TVD" even went to the extent of introducing new character of mystic hunter to be played by Nina Dobrev's look-alike Leslie Anne Huff.
Meanwhile, Somerhalder seems to be enjoying Dobrev's absence from "TVD." In an interview with Collider, Somerhalder revealed that "TVD" is finally back with track of Stefan [Paul Wesley] and Damon [Ian Somerhalder].
Somerhalder even went to the extent of admitting that he loves "TVD" Season 7 the most. He said, "We're really able to really focus on what this show was always about, which is this relationship with these two [Damon and Stefan]."
