"Fallout 4" is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.

A man from Russia is suing "Fallout 4" developer Bethesda claiming that his addiction to the recently released video game cost him his job and his wife.

The report came from Russian news agency RT and reports that a 28-year-old man from the city of Krasnoyarsk is suing Bethesda. The man went on a 3-week "Fallout 4" gaming spree which led to him missing his work, failing to sleep, eat and even talk to his wife and his friends.

Eventually, he was fired from his job, his wife left him and he claims that he is suffering from several health issues due to him not being able to take care of himself.

The still unnamed man is now suing "Fallout 4" developer Bethesda and the Russian company that localized the game in the country for 500,000 rubles or about $7,000.

In a statement acquired by RT, the man said, "If I knew that this game could have become so addictive, I would have become a lot more wary of it. I would not have bought it, or I would have left it until I was on holiday or until the New Year holidays."

Legal experts are seeing the lawsuit as a test case for Russia as no other lawsuit like it has been filed before. The law firm representing the 28-year-old man said that they want to "see how far we can go regarding this case."

Lawsuits regarding video game addiction are not entirely new. In 2010, a United States federal judge listened to a case brought by a Hawaiian man who claims that he became addicted to the online video game "Lineage II." According to Destructiod, the man has clocked at least 20,000 hours in the video game.
