Expect To See Bumbling Host Steve Harvey Still MC Of Miss Universe Pageant In Next 3 Years

The 2015 Miss Universe Pageant

"Family Feud" host Steve Harvey's head is not on the chopping block of Miss Universe despite his mega error on Sunday in announcing that Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia, is the winner and not Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.

The reason why he is not being axed is Harvey has a mutli-year contract with the beauty pageant organizers for at least three years. He could even be the host for at least seven more years and is being paid a very high talent fee, reports Fox.

So, despite his gaffe - likely the biggest in Miss Universe history and considered the blunder of 2015 - Harvey keeps his MC duties. Besides the contract, people from WME/IMG, the media agency that bought the franchise from the Miss Universe Organization, like Harvey and would likely still ask him to host future editions of the pageant.

There are conflicting reports if Harvey attended all the rehearsals for the Sunday coronation night, which some quarters are blaming for the error by Harvey in reading the winner's name.

While Harvey, who has apologized profusely for what he did several times on social media and personally to Ariadna and Pia, is still the social media clown of the moment, Canadian singer Justin Bieber took the occasion twice to promote his new chartbuster song "Sorry."

The 21-year-old, who was the meme king in September for his nude photos leaked by a paparazzi and knows how it feels to be in the eye of a social media storm, tweeted Harvey, "Don't worry @IASteveHarvey it could happen to anyone."

He then adds that his number 1 hit song is now the theme song of the Miss Universe fiasco and attached a video of "Sorry," reports GMA. A day after the pageant, he also joined the meme trend by substituting Harvey's face for his in photo to promote the song.

Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek also did a Justin Bieber on Tuesday by apologizing to Wurtzbach, the new Miss Universe, for saying that Miss Philippines did not deserve the crown which should have been given to Miss France.
