Attention is now diverted to a mini device called OnePlus 2 Mini, which rumors say OnePlus is starting to work on.

Aside from its flagship OnePlus 2, smartphone producer OnePlus finally introduces the OnePlus X this year; however, attention is now diverted to a mini device, which rumors say the company is starting to work on. It has been recently spotted on GFX Bench that this particular upcoming handset is no other than the OnePlus 2 Mini.

OnePlus X gained a lot of praises and satisfaction with its metal and glass design, which costs much lower than the OnePlus 2, and became a mediocre hardware. However, as per BGR, one can get a better hardware of the OnePlus 2 mini as it was seen passing through GFX Bench with a Snapdragon 810 chipset.

While the handset made its way through GFX, it didn't have a title and was in fact branded an "unknown" handset; however, what made it a mini smartphone is having the screen display about 4.6-inches. It simply denotes that the handset has a similar size with a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, which was officially released this year. Sony's compact smartphones have the latest Snapdragon 810 chipset with a plastic body. The flagship Xperia Z5 offers a metal frame with glass black panel and the Snapdragon 810 chipset.

OnePlus appears to be following a similar footstep that Sony did in selecting the same chipset for the smaller OnePlus 2. Other specifications of the OnePlus 2 Mini include a screen resolution of 1920x1080P and a density of 479PPI. As stated in the GFX Bench, it has a Snapdragon Qualcomm 810 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and octa-core CPU on board.

Lastly, though the smaller OnePlus 2 model didn't include any expandable memory card slots, OnePlus plans to consider using these slots in the OnePlus 2 Mini.

So stay tune till the official release of the upcoming smartphone.
