‘Twilight’ Star Kristen Stewart Swears Off Social Media; Says It’s Not Necessary

Kristen Stewart played Bella Swan in "Twilight" opposite Robert Pattinson as Robert Cullen.

"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart recently swore off the use of social media.

According to the actress, she doesn't have one because it is unnecessary.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 25-year-old said, "I've never fed into it. I've never had a public Twitter, I've never had a public Facebook or things where people go on and look at your every move, like Instagram and stuff like that, because it's just so empty and distracting. I don't understand how many people don't view it as what it is, which is nothing at all. It's just nothing, all of it -it doesn't exist. And so year, it's weird but it makes sense," she said.

Meanwhile, Stewart also revealed how much her life changed ever since she joined the "Twilight" franchise.

Since Stewart started filming at the age of 17 years old. The first film in the trilogy was released when she was just 18 years old.

"I did 'Twilight' when I was 17, it came out when I was 18 and my life was never even remotely the same," she said.

In other news, Stewart's co-star Robert Pattinson also talked about fame during an interview with the Associated Press.

"The first period of getting famous was incredibly strange to me and really fun at the beginning because you didn't realize the consequences of anything. You could say or do whatever you wanted and it just didn't matter. I only really realized what being famous was about three years after I got famous, four years afterwards," he said.
