American car manufacturer Ford is planning to launch 12 new sport cars.

American car manufacturer Ford is planning to launch 12 new sport cars. The company is aiming to hit the market by 2017 with its new Ford Fiesta RS, which is a 250 hp car followed by new cars in the coming years till 2020.

According to a German website, Ford is set to launch brand new sports car Fiesta RS by 2017, with 250 hp engine. The engine is going to be 250 hp four cylinder 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine, which the company is using in the Ford Fiesta ST. Other websites also suggests that the engine may be boosted by 36-183kw.

With these specifications, Ford Fiesta RS will be able to do 0 to 60 miles in about 6 seconds, and the top speed may go up to 150mph, according to INVEST CORRECTLY. Ford Fiesta RS will also sport a standard 6 speed manual transmission and up rated brakes. Improved suspension and braking systems lets it stand out the crowd.

The car will also receive selection of new visual elements and aerodynamics components, according to CarScoops.com. There are still rumors around the drive configuration, some suggesting it will sport the Fiesta's front wheel configuration while others suggest it will have all wheel drive for the first time.

Ford may launch this car on the 40th anniversary day of the Fiesta nameplate. According to car analysts, Ford may take the launch date to late 2017 or early 2018. The launch of the complete range is expected up till 2020. News Hour reported the rumored models may include F-150 raptor, Focus RS, Shelby GT350 and GT350R, to name a few.
