Tom Cruise was fine with Holmes raising Suri as a single parent, but cannot bear the thought of her being raised by Foxx.

Tom Cruise and his ex-wife Katie Holmes are reported to be heading for a fierce custody battle for their 9-year-old daughter Suri Cruise. The ex-couple's marriage took place in 2006 and only lasted for six years, wherein they've divorced in 2012. Cruise has not bothered to keep in touch with his child ever since, and has not been seen with their daughter, although he was fond of appearing in public and being photographed before the divorce. He even avoided meeting the child when he was in the same city some time back.

Having tasted early success in the 80's, this Oscar nominee started his brilliant career with a film with Brooke Shields as his co-star in "Endless Love." Cruise also had an earlier marriage with Nicole Kidman in 1990 and they parted ways in 2001. Kidman is now happily married to Keith Urban and is mother of two kids.

It is reported by Hollywood Life that Holmes worries that if Cruise wins the custody battle, he is likely to turn Suri towards the religion of Scientology. It was earlier thought that Cruise moving away towards Scientology was the cause of the breakup; however, paparazzi dug out that this isn't the case. It is said that the two detest each other, and the feud has carried over all these years. They are not even on speaking terms even today, and leave the talking to the intermediaries.

Inspite of this, Cruise is in the mood to take revenge on Holmes' rumored relationship with his 48-year-old friend, and is furious with Holmes for secretly dating his friend Jamie Foxx. It is said that due to this dating rumor, Cruise is now asking for custody of his 9-year-old daughter.

Cruise is in a position to care for his daughter, and has money and legal power to play a larger role in Suri's life, said reports. It has been learnt that Cruise plans to move away and plans to relocate in Florida. He was fine with Holmes raising the child as a single parent, but cannot bear the thought of her being raised by Foxx. Whereas Holmes just wants to live a normal life - and that life now includes Foxx, even though she is aware that her move in this direction is sure to involve her in a custody battle.
