Recent rumors have emerged that UC Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano is being considered by Italian Serie A top team Inter Milan as a replacement for Colombian Fredy Guarin, who is reportedly soon on his way to China to play for Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning FC.

Forza Italian Football reported that Guarin's "seemingly imminent departure from Inter to move to China could see the Biscione swoop for Sampdoria midfielder, Roberto Soriano".

The 24-year-old Soriano has been linked to current league leaders SSC Napoli during the summer, but a potential transfer deal to the Stadio San Paolo fell through at the last minute because the necessary paperwork was not delivered on time.

Now, with the impending departure of Guarin, I Nerazzurri is looking to patch things up in Roberto Mancini's lineup and the Italy international is said to be the club's number one target.

Meanwhile, I Blucerchiati President Massimo Ferrero has confirmed that Soriano is available for purchase this January transfer window at a price of £11 million (€15 million).

Ferrero clarified that the club is actually not keen on selling the Italian-German footballer, but if a team is willing to pay at least £11 million, then they will consider the offer.

"If someone were to turn up with €15m (£11m) for Soriano, we'll talk about it, but I doubt that's going to happen," said Ferrero, as per Sports Mole.

Aside from Inter, AC Milan is also rumored to be interested in Soriano as its current head coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic, was the former mentor of the Darmstadt, Germany native.

Soriano has only been with Sampdoria in his entire six-year senior career, which began on loan to Empoli in the 2010-2011 season.

He has appeared in 126 games for La Samp and had scored 16 goals in the process.
