The Boston Celtics are the certified buyers at the trade deadline and they could get the rim protector that they need.

It might be the franchise All-Star center like DeMarcus Cousins that the Celtic fan base has been hovering over the past months (years?), but they could get him cheap.

According to Sir Charles In Charge, Chandler is most probably available at the deadline since the Phoenix Suns may need to embark on a full rebuild. He was signed on by Phoenix to attract LaMarcus Aldridge (and assure him that they won't play him at center), but Aldridge chose the Spurs.

Chandler was supposed to be a veteran mentor and he did his best but the team just had too many problems to face. The defensive minded seven-footer would be better off with a playoff team where his rim protection could be a difference maker.

The Boston Celtics is the most likely candidate as SCIC mentioned.

"Among playoff teams without a rim protector, the Celtics are best positioned to make an offer with their cache of draft picks and young talent," SCIC declared. "Teams might have concerns about paying Chandler so much guaranteed money during the twilight of his career, but someone will decide that it is worth the risk."

It seems like the fans in Arizona are in agreement as they would like to get a draft pick, as per Arizona Sports. A trade sending David Lee's expiring contract (for salary match) and the Dallas Mavericks' 2016 first round pick (top 7 protected, possibly 15-20) would be a big plus and the Suns would also be relieved of Chandler's long term salary.

For the Celtics, AS adds: "Chandler and Amir Johnson would form a dynamic defensive presence if Chandler gets back to form on a more regular basis. He can play with Kelly Olynyk, Jared Sullinger and Tyler Zeller. He'd immediately be Boston's top defensive big and with Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart defending at the point of attack, that would make the Celtics an even more dangerous team."

Seems like a win-win situation and Danny Ainge and Suns GM Ryan McDonough aren't strangers, so a trade between them is not unlikely.
