Almost 14 years ago, an aspiring model named Ashley Ellerin was brutally murdered in her Hollywood home. Before this devastating event, she went out with Ashton Kutcher, an aspiring actor back then.
While Kutcher was not made one of the suspects for this death, he will still be dragged to court for the scheduled trial.
Ellerin loved going to parties and used crystal methamphetamine and cocaine, the Crime Library reported. Though her lifestyle wasn't that "healthy", she was considered by many as a sweet and thoughtful friend. This "friendly" personality delivered her into her gruesome end, welcoming into her home the murderer Michael Gargiulo, a heater repairman.
Kutcher was in contact with the victim before she was murdered. In fact, that night was their supposedly "date" night. Kutcher made several phone calls, but didn't receive even a single response. He immediately went straight to Ellerin's house; however, didn't see her.
According to reports, Kutcher's only clear recall of that night was a liquid, dark red substance, which he did not expect to be Ellerin's own blood.
The victim was 22 years old when attempted to join the Hollywood limelight. She belonged to an upper class family residing in California. Ellerin considered herself a creative person; hence, took up fashion design.
Gargulio, who was named the "Hollywood Ripper" for his association with other Hollywood killings, will join trial for the Ellerin murder.
Though the Ellerin-Kutcher romance was cut-short, the actor's testimony will be of big help in establishing the exact time of death, according to Hello Magazine.
