New "Street Fighter 5" details will feature the official run time of the story DLC and a spring 2016 release date for the SteamOS and Linux versions.
Capcom confirmed that "Street Fighter 5" will be heading to the SteamOS and Linux this year and they will likely launch them sometime in the spring. The announcement for the SteamOS and Linux was made back in December last year, but did not specify when the actually release date will be.
PC users will have the privilege to have free updates for "Street Fighter 5" in the SteamOS, not to mention that gamers can use the Steam controller and play the game in other Steam machines or Linux based hardware, Polygon reported. Clearly this is Capcom's way of expanding the community to support "Street Fighter 5" for all gamers alike, whether the old or new generation.
In other news, "Street Fighter" producer Yoshinori Ono stated that the upcoming DLC story mode expansion for "Street Fighter 5" will take players around 1-2 hours to finish it. The DLC story mode will likely connect certain events between "Street Fighter 4" to "Street Fighter 3" and players will not get any answers when playing the prologue.
Both Ono and co-producer Tomoaki Ano explained that the file size of the said DLC story mode could have been enough to be sold separately, though it is entirely possible that was a tongue and cheek moment since Capcom have already explained their DLC plans for "Street Fighter 5", Gamerant reported.
The "Street Fighter 5" DLC story mode will likely center on M.Bison and Shadowloo's plans of world domination as several characters from the popular game series will rally together to stop him and find their roles in the upcoming plot.
Capcom added that Alex will be the first DLC character for "Street Fighter 5" and will launch sometime next month. Other characters that are being hinted for the DLC includes Ibuki, Urien, Balrog, Guile and Juri. The sequel will have 16 playable characters like Ryu, Chun Li, Ken, Cammy, Nash, Birdie, M.Bison, Vega, Karin, R.Mika, Zangief, Dhalsim, Necalli, Laura, Rashid and F.A.N.G.
Several game modes are also available in "Street Fighter 5" like Tutorial, Character Story mode, Survival, Training, Network Battles and the Capcom Fighters Network. Players can earn in-game fight money and use it to unlock certain items like characters, alternate outfits etc.
"Street Fighter 5" is currently available in stores for the PlayStation 4 and the PC platforms.
