The electronics manufacturer Motorola has not rolled out the Android 6.0 M update to Moto X Play which is called as Verizon Droid Maxx 2 in the United States. The Verizon's Droid Turbo 2 has begun getting the Android Marshmallow update after the initial soak test.
According to reports, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has arrived for owners of Moto X Force in some markets.
The electronics company rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Moto X (2014) in December last year. Reports also suggest that the Moto G (2014) is getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. However, Moto E (2014) will not get the latest Marshmallow update.
The new update is available for owners of Moto G (2015) in Europe, US and other parts of the world. The Moto E (2015) will also get the latest update, according to Motorola's blog post.
Meanwhile, according to latest reports, the new Moto G (2016) may arrive in summer. The tech company Motorola released the Moto G (2015) in July 2015, according to a Digital Trends report.
It is expected that the new device will cost around $200-$250. The initial price of the 8 GB Moto G (2015) was $179.
Rumor has it that the upcoming Moto G (2016) will be powered by Snapdragon 430 processor. The Moto G (2015) had a 5-inch screen with 720p resolution (294 ppi). The Moto G (2016) is expected to have a bigger size screen with a resolution of 1,080p. According to reports, the display material could be made from Gorilla Glass.
Reports suggest that the Moto G 2016 will sport a bigger battery than anticipated. Also, the upcoming device is rumored to have 3 GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the smartphone is expected to come with a water resistance coating. Rumors are also doing the rounds that the Motorola device will come with a fingerprint sensor.
