The opening video clip for Tecmo Koei's "Attack on Titan" (Shingeki No Kyojin) game has appeared on the internet, and as expected by the fans of the manga and anime, the game stars various members of the Survey Corps flying through the air, attacking a Titan.
The released clip reveals the protagonist Eren Yeager changing into a Titan before taking on other Titans and destroying buildings. According to Detructoid, Koei Tecmo initially unveiled that Eren's Titan form would be playable in the game.
The adventure role-playing game launches today, Feb. 18 in Japan, although the release date for other regions around the world is indefinite. The game releases with single-player mode only, although the creator promised to add online multiplayer co-op mode in a major update. The free update will incorporate support for online cooperative play for up to four players.
Reports indicate that the new mode will be available on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. Besides the upcoming mode, Koei Tecmo will include 10 extra items to the new game, including decorations for the base. The new patch is slated for a March 24 roll out.
Furthermore, Koei Tecmo has lined up a number of updates, the first one releasing on launch day and it will bring new costumes with a New Year theme, according to Siliconera. A week later, on Feb. 25, there will be three new episodes, more costumes, and new weapons. It is expected that the new costumes and weapons will have a "Festival" theme.
The next update is expected to arrive next month on March 3, with Halloween costumes and weapons, in addition to three brand-new episodes. March 10 will see players receiving Christmas costumes and weapons and three additional episodes. The final update will roll out on March 17, with player getting 16 new costumes, four weapons, and nine new episodes.
Although the introduction cinematic is good, it is clear that it lacks in Sasha Blouse. The character is the best character in the series.
