Speculations are rife that George R. R. Martin is trying to finish "Winds of Winter" soon with a co-writer, and it may be released this year.
Fans all over the world are hoping that their favourite author would hire a co-author to complete "Winds of Winter." It was rumoured a few weeks back that author of the book "Anansi Boys" Neil Gaiman is being roped in to help Martin finish the book. However, nothing yet is confirmed about this co-authorship. If Martin is eyeing a quick release for "Winds of Winter," then fans feel that he should really consider hiring Gaiman to complete the much awaited book.
The author already came forward to apologise to the fans about the long delay in the book's release. He wrote in his blog Live Journal that initially he thought he will be able to finish the book on time.
However, multiple commitments and script writing gigs made him put the book on the back burner for a few months. He was not able predict the actual time that he would need to finish the book. He was sad, that in spite of putting every other commitment aside since a few months, he is still not able to deliver the book on time.
On the other hand, it was earlier rumoured that the book will release in March 2016. As, Martin is yet to finish writing the sixth instalment of "The Song of Ice and Fire" series, many fans are still hopeful that the book may actually be released this year with the help of Gaiman.
Meanwhile, the upcoming season of TV series, "Game of Thrones," will premiere on HBO on April 24. There are some reports that this season consists of the storyline, which will be seen in the upcoming book. Hence, it does not add up that the book is expected to be released after the premiere of the 6th season.
However, contrary to all these reports, Winter is Coming, expects that "Winds of Winter" release will happen just in time for "Game of Thrones" Season 7.
