Apple's iPhone 7 is slated for a release in September, and it will be the best smartphone the company has made so far.
iPhone 7 will launch with Apple Watch 3, making it go against tough new competition from modular LG G5 and current iPhones, although its biggest competition will be from Samsung S7. Samsung's latest flagship was unveiled at the 2016 MWC, and it packs a variety of small tweaks to make it beat even S6.
Fans of the iPhones are expecting a more refined, polished smartphone in the upcoming iteration with at least one killer feature. Here are some of the features that will make iPhone 7 possibly to beat Samsung S7:
1. Dual-Cameras
There are many rumors that iPhone 7 will feature dual-cameras and a new sneak peek shows how they work. The smartphone could feature technology from Apple's LinX company, although the clip shows the same dual-camera system its rivals, Corephotonics. The dual-camera setup should make it easier and faster to autofocus.
If the latest rumors are to be believed, the upcoming iPhone 7 will sport a radically advanced camera module. According to 9to5mac, reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI securities unveiled that the next iPhone would utilize a dual-camera system with an optical zoom and 2-3x magnification.
Furthermore, the report continues to reveal that the dual-camera configuration will be featured on the iPhone 7 Plus only, and that one of the cameras could sport fish-eye style lens.
2. Waterproof Design
It is speculated that the upcoming iPhone will be waterproof. Initially, Apple filed a patent for ports that eject water and now it has filed a new one for connections that self-heal, a move that solves the main challenges of making a phone waterproof.
The Patent, Electronic Device With Hidden Connector, shows a connector hidden by a self-healing elastomer. Stills included in the patent show the elastomer allowing the penetration of a probe, and self-sealing as soon as the probe is removed. The port is protected from the elements always, but it allows fast and easy access for charging and headphones.
3. Long-distance Wireless Charging
Recently, there were rumors that iPhone 7 would come with wireless charging, but the speculation now appears somehow less likely, Bloomberg reported. On the other hand, the report suggests the company is developing "cutting-edge" tech that allows iPhones and iPads to be charged without a cable or charging mat.
However, the technology will not hit the market until sometime in 2017. As a result, unless Apple changes its release date considerably, fans will not see it on the iPhone 7. The timeframe is rational for the projected launch date of the iPhone 7s.
