This year's Mobile World Congress was the best for Samsung as it has unveiled two of its flagship smartphones last week - Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge series were released and it gained momentum in the next few days. The main reason is, unlike S6 Edge, the S7 Edge has a bigger battery, more refined design, IP68 certification, sophisticated camera, etc.
The Galaxy S6 Edge has a 5.1-inch display that is 142mm tall and 70mm wide. The Galaxy S7 Edge, on the other hand, is quite bigger than its predecessor with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen, but a bit difficult to carry around. Unlike Galaxy S6 Edge, the successor has IP68 certification, meaning it is entirely waterproof and dustproof. Also, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has an expandable phone memory up to 200GB via microSD. The RAM on S7 Edge is 4GB and has also improved from the 3GB of S6 Edge.
Galaxy S6 Edge has a dual-sided display, while Galaxy S7 Edge is no different from it when it comes to displays as it has the same QHD resolution and pixel rating as S6 Edge. The cameras of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge have declined to 12-megapixel compared to the 16-megapixel of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge; however, the cameras of S7 Edge uses a dual-pixel technology where two light sensitive photodiodes work on every pixel of an image.
The Galaxy S6 Edge used Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at the time of its release in 2015, and it also had a TouchWiz user interface over the top. Galaxy S7 Edge, on the other hand, comes with the latest Android Marshmallow with Knox security software. It should be worthy to note that the update on S6 Edge for a Marshmallow OS is still under progress. The CPU and GPU of Galaxy S7 Edge are also 30 percent faster compared to Galaxy S6 Edge.
When it comes to battery, S7 Edge wins the race, as it has a 3600mAh battery with on board wireless charging facility. Though the wireless charging feature is also available in S6 Edge, it only has a battery storage capacity of 2800mAh.
