Pro golfer Robert Allenby reportedly lied about being kidnapped but actually went to a Honolulu strip club and had a bill in the amount of $3,400, according to ABC.
Allenby's whereabouts was said to be tracked after he ate dinner with friends at the Amuse Wine Bar in Honolulu. His kidnapping claim contradicts the statement of the witnesses.
When the golfer left after dinner, he proceeded to Club Femme Nu, which is a combination of a tattoo place and Korean restaurant added with adult entertainment. The athlete stayed there until midnight and racked up a bill for $3,400.
According to witnesses, after Allenby left the club, he was found by two men named Toa Kaili and Chris Khamis 100 yards away from the adult club. The golfer accused them of robbing him so instead of helping Allenby they left him in the area, Golf Channel reported.
At 1 am, the two homeless men found Allenby again on the sidewalk 50 feet away from the first spot where he was seen. At this time the golfer's face was bloodied and had some cuts. Khamis said that Allenby was a wreck and was "more than drunk" when he was found.
The story gets more confusing when the video surveillance from the Amuse Wine Bar was shown. Based on the clip, Allenby settled his bill and socialized with three unknown people. The golfer went to the restroom and came back "impaired."
Allenby's caddie Mick Middlemo said that the athlete looked fine before he left and commented that his boss seemed intoxicated after he talked to the three unknown people. Middlemo believes that Allenby's drink was drugged.
As for Allenby's statement, he recalled that he woke up at 1:27 am with the help of a homeless woman identified as Charade Keane and another man. The man paid the golfer's cab fare on their way to hotel Kahala.
When he was inside the hotel, Allenby immediately contacted the Police Department and reported that he was "kidnapped, beaten, robbed and thrown from a trunk."
As of this time, Honolulu law enforcers are still investigating the case that occurred on Jan.16. According to recent reports from the police officers, they are currently investigating a second-degree robbery and fraudulent credit card usage but not kidnapping or physical attack.
