2 Chainz, the hip-hop artist, says his next big career is to become the mayor of his hometown of Atlanta, but there is a big problem. He does not live within the area.
In his interviews, 2 Chainz revealed his desire of entering the world of politics by running as a mayor of College Park, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb.
"I want to become the mayor of College Park," the musician revealed to XXL Magazine. "Everybody is asking me to finally do it. Well, I will really be doing it, it's just that, I am trying to make sure that I possess all the right qualifications and needed requirements," he added.
His statement was reaffirmed when he told the Atlanta Journal Constitution, "I am very excited with the plan. I am, finally, making it happen late this year or early next year."
While his intention of running for an office is solid rock, one problem is emerging repeatedly. 2 Chainz does not live, not even a regular visitor, in College Park- a locality of approximately 14,000 residents.
Longino, the incumbent mayor for 20 years, is not threatened by the news. According to him, through the Daily Beast, if the hip-hop rapper lives in College Park and decides to run for an office, he will let his people decide.
"I will just continue to serve my people and stand firm on what I have accomplished through my years of service in College Park," the incumbent mayor said.
Apparently, the Mayor just got another achievement for his town. He revealed to the Daily Beast that Google has made College Park the most recent city to experience Google Fiber.
