According to Chinese blog MyDrivers, Google will be partnering with HTC to manufacture its upcoming line of Nexus 2016 smartphones. It seems that the Taiwanese tech giant will manufacture devices that would run on the upcoming operating systems - Android N, Android O and Android P.
The first Nexus smartphone ever, which was called the Nexus One was an HTC product and it was released back in 2010. In 2014, HTC was hired to manufacture the Nexus 9 tablet. Fresh reports suggest that HTC will be collaborating with Google once again in building the Nexus phones.
According to iDigital Times, HTC will be building two Nexus 2016 phones. The first smartphone will come with a 5-inch display screen and the second one will be come with a 5.5-inch display screen.
The recently released devices such as the Nexus 5X comes with a 5.2-inch display screen and the larger Nexus 6P come with a 5.7-inch display screen. It is highly speculated that the design of these upcoming Nexus devices will reflect the appearance of the HTC 10 flagship, a smartphone which is expected to get launched next month.
Meanwhile, it is also expected that HTC will be using the pressure sensitive feature on the touchscreen for the upcoming Nexus phones. This feature will come preinstalled with upcoming Android N operating system update. It is also expected to come with the native support for 3D Touch-like features, similar to those found in the current gen devices of the iPhone.
It is reported that the inclusion of the relatively new pressure sensitive display along with the 3D Touch feature will positively help the Nexus phones to distinguish between different kinds of touch gestures on the screen. This, will in turn enhance the user experience. The HTC Nexus 2016 is also expected to support the upcoming Nexus VR device.
As for the new of a potential new Google tablet, since the global sales of tablets are declining, Google may not release a new tablet anytime soon.
