Steve Borden, Sr., who is professionally known as Sting, has been missing in action since the Night of Champions PPV and fans are expecting to see him make his return in "Wrestlemania 32" against The Undertaker. However, the wrestler dubbed The Demon from Death Valley got his hands full as he is set to face Shane McMahon, also known as The Prodigal Son, in the upcoming PPV.
Initially, The Undertaker was slated to face John Cena, dubbed the People's Champ, in the "Greatest Stage of Them All." However, Cena was diagnosed with a shoulder injury earlier this year and was rendered unable to compete in the event, Bleacher Report reported.
To keep the hype train moving, the WWE management decided to replace Cena with the son of Vince McMahon. The latter made his shocking return on Feb. 22 after leaving the company in 2009.
In that episode, Shane revealed that he knows one of his father's darkest secrets his sister and WWE's current Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon, knows nothing of. Thus, he tried to use it as leverage to regain control of "Monday Night RAW" but he needs to defeat The Undertaker first at "Wrestlemania 32" on April 4 to get what he wants.
Looking at Shane and The Undertaker's wrestling credentials and achievements, there is no denying that the Dead Man has far more experience in the field than the Prodigal Son. Also, Shane's six-year layoff makes a victory questionable against The Undertaker so someone of the latter's caliber may switch or represent the former.
As for Sting, he is said to be completely healthy and the two neurologists he consulted in Houston, Texas, said he is in good shape, according to WWE. Rumor has it that the wrestler underwent a neck surgery that might had ended his WWE career.
Meanwhile, other matches to look out for in "Wrestlemania 32" are Triple H defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar engaging in a "No Holds Barred Street Fight" and Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, Sin Cara, The Miz versus Stardust will compete in a Ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Here's how Shane got himself a match against The Undertaker in an episode of RAW on Feb. 22.
