SM Entertainment confirmed on Saturday, March 26, that Taeyeon is set to hold her first ever solo concert series. Called "Taeyeon, Butterfly Kiss," the Girl's Generation songstress chose to kick off her concert series at the Seoul Olympic Park Hall on April 23 and 24.
Taeyeon's solo concert was pursued after the "Missing You Like Crazy" hitmaker appeared to SM Entertainment's "The Agit" concert series, Korean Herald reported. To recall, Taeyeon's talent agency launched a concert series of their own artists in October 2015.
At the time, Taeyeon was lined up to perform in the second leg of the SM Entertainment concerts. Called "Taeyeon's Very Special Day," the "Farewell" songstress treated her fans with superb vocals at the SMTOWN COEX Atrium for a total of six shows from Oct. 23 to 25 and Oct.30 to Nov. 1, MWave shared.
At the concert, Taeyeon performed tracks from her first solo album called "I." Together with a live band, she also sang some Taetiseo and SNSD songs.
Taeyeon also made an effort to get close with her avid fans during the second SM Entertainment concert in October. The "Gemini" singer read messages fans wrote in the guest book and even shared some personal stories and love advices to them.
Being considered as one of the most powerful singers in South Korea, Taeyeon was given a major break thru the release of her first solo album in October 2015 and was followed by another single titled "Rain." Moreover, Taeyeon bagged the Artist of The Year trophy at the 5th Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards in February. Recently, sources claimed that Taeyeon will also be releasing her first ever full-length album on April.
In other news, Taeyeon was spotted filming together with Kyuhyun of Super Junior and a live band in Jeju Island. Fans cannot help but speculate that both SM artists are shooting for a mineral water commercial, Daily KPop News shared.
Meanwhile, tickets for the "Taeyeon, Butterfly Kiss" concert will be available for purchase and reservations starting March 30 through YES24.
