"The Vampire Diaries" (TVD) Season 6 episode 16 is set to air on April 1, Friday. After three weeks hiatus, the show resumes the run with much-awaited segment "Days of Future Past" that was directed by the actor who plays the role of Damon Salvatore, Ian Somerhalder. According to the actor-turned-director, the next chapter will see the death of some significant characters of the series. Here are detailed spoilers and promo for the next chapter of the show. In a recent interview with TV Guide, Somerhalder teased what to expect from "The Vampire Diaries" (TVD) Season 6 episode 16. It seems not all the fan-favourite characters will make it to episode 17.
"This one was really about telling the story of this whole group of individuals and how they're all intersecting," Somerhalder said about the episode 16. "And we lost some very wonderful, very beautiful characters in this episode," the actor added.
Somerhalder promises that the forthcoming segment will be "tugging on the heartstrings of the audience and really allowing them to feel these characters."
Meanwhile, several media outlets are speculating which main characters will bite the dust in "The Vampire Diaries" (TVD) Season 7 episode 16. The Spoilersguide synopsis suggests that Rayna is coming after Stefan (Paul Wesley) and she must be killed. But killing Rayna (Leslie Ann-Huff) means death of Stefan as he has that deadly scar.
In an attempt to save his brother, Damon tries to transfer the scar to him. However, this could lead to destructive consequences. Considering the plot details, media outlets and fans are speculating that one of the main character dying in episode 16 could be one of the Salvatore brothers. At the same time, other media outlets deny this theory and insist that characters getting killed in "Days of Future Past" could be anyone but Damon or Stefan.

According to Zap2it, Stefan, Damon, Caroline (Candice King) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) seem to be safe. However, Enzo (Michael Malarkey), Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) or the female heretics including Nora, Mary Louise and Valerie might be in danger and are the ones to die. Synopsis suggest that Enzo and Nora have a "violent run-in," which leads to a shocking discovery.
In addition, Somerhalder teased a huge explosion in episode 16. According to him, this will break audience's heart. "This car blew up and I was 200 feet away and I could still feel the heat and the percussion from this thing. The audience isn't going to get the blast that I felt. What they're going to feel is real heartbreak for why that explosion happened," Somerhalder told Entertainment Weekly.
