The highly anticipated segment will see Gladiators take the front while their head Olivia is away. ABC has released a synopsis for "Scandal" Season 5 episode 14 on its official website teasing the plot details. According to the press release, while Olivia is a bit preoccupied with her own issues, Gladiators work on their own.
With Jake taking the lead at the NSA, Olivia is concerned what his real motives are. During the course of Season 5, Jake's true intentions will be revealed. Until then, Olivia will keep a close eye on Jake and try to figure out the truth.
Back at Olivia Pope & Associates, Gladiators are forced to fight for themselves while Olivia is busy. Elsewhere, Susan and Mellie's campaign reaches a crucial point. The ladies begin to feel the pressure as the elections are approaching.
Speaking about her campaign for the post of president, "Scandal" actress Bellamy Young, who plays the role of Mellie, told Entertainment Weekly that there will be "an amazing field of candidates."
"I cannot wait for everybody to see some new and old faces. Some folks will be a surprise, some folks will be folks you know very, very well, and some folks you may not have seen in a minute. It's good and juicy," Young continued.
In addition, fans can expect to see some drama surrounding Abby. She doubts Cyrus' true motives and wants him to come clean. The highpoint of episode 14 will be the surprise arrival of someone from the past. This person's return is going to leave everyone stunned.
